What's Happening at ECV

The Lion's Den
This Sunday, we conclude 'Singing the Lord's Song in a Foreign Land' with another tremendous story about the faithfulness of God amidst crisis. This time, Daniel deals with the jealousy of his peers that leads them to use Daniel's faith against him with dire consequences. Daniel responds with obedience. Obedience that - at this point in our series - has become ordinary. Is this pattern of obedience typical of our lives or even desirable to us? Might ordinary obedience in our lives be as extraordinary as we've seen it be in Daniel's? Come and hear more this Sunday.
Ash Wednesday
2/10 @ 5:30p at FSUMC

Lent is coming soon!
Lent is an ancient season in the church calendar marking an intentional time to connect with God while remembering Jesus' life, death, and resurrection.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. Our family friendly Ash Wednesday service will be held at First and Summerfield at 5:30p.

Run for Refugees
2/7 @ 10am

The annual Run for Refugees is happening two Sundays from now. The scenic 5k that runs through East Rock benefits IRIS, a non-profit organization that helps refugees begin their lives in Connecticut. Visit this website for more information and if you would like to run or walk with a group, contact Laura.

IRIS is one of ECV's Partners and this is a great way for our community to support their work.

Roots
Mondays at 7p

Roots is ECV's youth ministry for 5th-8th graders. We have changed its weekly meeting time toMondays from 7-8:15pm at First & Summerfield Church in the Parlor. We invite any and all 5th-8th graders and their friends (even if they have never been to ECV!) to join us as we grow in our relationships with God and with each other.
If you are interested in investing in our youth, contact Carmen.
