What's Happening at ECV

Expecting Mercy
Is there room for mercy in our conversations on fairness and justice? Mercy is love that responds to our need for restoration from wrongdoing and our need for provision from lack. Too often we withhold mercy from others and don't expect God's mercy for ourselves. What if this Advent - a season of waiting for Christ’s birth - we learned to expect mercy from God and show mercy to others? In our new series, ‘Expecting Mercy’, we’ll look at how God brings mercy close through Jesus’ birth and ministry in Luke's Gospel. This Sunday, Josh will share how Luke introduces this story of mercy — the birth of Jesus’ cousin, John, and the call to repent.
Night of Music
12/6 8pm @ FSUMC

On December 6th at 8pm ECV is hosting a Concert! Julian Reid and his band "The Neighbors" will be preforming at FSUMC. This will be a night of amazing music so save the date and start inviting your friends. All of this will happen in the sanctuary this Sunday night after church. Go out, get some grub and come back with your friends in time for an incredible show. You will not want to miss this.
Sprouts Craft Fair
12/13 After the Service

Two Sundays from now, on the 13th, Sprouts is hosting their annual Craft Fair! This year, Sprouts and Roots are making baked goods and Christmas ornaments to sell in order to raise money for mosquito nets which will provide a safe home environment for families in Uganda (and other developing countries). So bring some cash to church on the 13th and look for the festive table in the back of the sanctuary. Lets help our amazing kids raise some funds for families around the world!
Carols for All!

One of the most recognizable marks of the Christmas season is the SONGS. Since Christmas songs have a unique way of making spirits bright, this month our worship pastor Tina will be coordinating Christmas caroling in the neighborhoods of East Rock and Newhallville - the site of our New Haven Neighborhood Challenge - as a way to bless the residents and businesses of our city. If you are interested in joining in & spreading the good cheer through caroling, contact
tina@elmcityvineyard.org this week. All ages and levels of vocal ability are welcome.
