What's Happening at ECV

Jesus as Judge
Sometimes, we all need rescue. We need someone or something to save us from our past, our fears, our enemies (if we have those), and—perhaps most of all–ourselves. In the Bible, God sent “judges” to rescue people and the Bible describes Jesus as this sort of Judge. But what does rescue have to do with judgment? What does it mean to know Jesus as a Judge? And why would we want to know Jesus this way? Join us this Sunday as Matt leads us in asking these questions.
Check out a Homegroup
Mondays -Thursdays

Interested in a homegroup? You should check one out. Homegroups meet in homes throughout the city and there are options for almost all nights of the week. These groups have been great places to connect with others and to take next steps in what we've been sharing on Sundays. They are also spaces of prayer, engaging conversation, and friendship. Whether you are trying out church for the first time or you have been following Jesus for years, you are welcome. For more details visit the homegroup tab on our website.
Campfire at the Murray's
10/23 @ 6:30, 6 Garden St.

Come out to Tim and Marilyn's home this Friday night to enjoy an evening around the campfire. There will be s'mores and lots of good conversation. Bring your friends, bring a blanket, and let's enjoy the changing of the seasons together! The Murray's address is 6 Garden Street (knock on the left side door, or just come around back). Email Marilyn with questions.
Reading the Bible
in Light of the Big Story
10/25 @ 6pm

The Bible is complex and sometimes confusing. Thankfully, “The Big Story” from our September teaching series can help us get our bearings and follow along with the arc of God’s work in the world as we read. Join us this Sunday, after the service, as Josh Harris and Matt Croasmun help us frame our experience of the Bible with The Big Story.
