What's Happening at ECV

A New Creation is Everything
What if the divided world we live in is not all there is? Throughout the letter to the Galatians, Paul has encouraged the community to wake up to the greater freedom that Jesus offers. It's an individual freedom that absolves our personal sins and a corporate freedom from the world the way that it is, the present evil age. Once awake, we get to live into this new freedom as God brings his New Creation to bear on our reality. In this New Creation, we are not bound by laws; instead, we voluntarily posture ourselves as servants building one another up in love. This is the kind of world we need. On Sunday, Josh will close our series with an invitation to make this new creation, this new world, our reality.
Lighthouse Point Picnics
Fridays @ 5:30

Looking for more ways to enjoy New Haven in the summer? Join us every Friday evening in August atLighthouse Point for picnics in the park. We will meet by the splash pad at 5:30 and enjoy some dinner, friends, and the beach!
Bring your picnic dinner and something to share. If you need a ride or can give a ride, fill out this survey at tinyurl.com/ecvrides and we will help coordinate carpooling. Email Laura with further questions.
Extended Time of Prayer
8/9 3:15 - 3:45p

In our teaching series, we've come to know that Jesus "gave himself for our sins to set us free from the present evil age." How do we receive that freedom? Prayer is one way. By praying with others, we invite God to be with us, free us, and transform us. The Pastoral Care Team will facilitate this kind of prayer on Sunday (8/9) starting at 3:15p. If God has highlighted something to you during this series, please use this time to seek further insight and freedom from God.
Please RSVP to
or feel free to come on Sunday. We'll meet by the choir section in the sanctuary and head to a nearby room for prayer.
New Haven Neighborhood Challenge

August marks the beginning of our time exploring the neighborhood of Morris Cove. The goal of the New Haven Neighborhood Challenge is for us to get to know the different neighborhoods in New Haven and discover new ways that we can bless our city and be apart of the good work that is already happening in the different districts. There are a number of different ways to to play, spend, and listen in Morris Cove. Visit this page to get some ideas and to find out more about this month's neighborhood.
