What's Happening at ECV

An Unexpected Family
On Sunday, Julian spoke powerfully about trusting God in the face of fear. Listen to that talk here. Next up, Josh will share about enjoying a spirit of family, humility, and love. We all want to experience the kind of joy that comes from rich and dynamic relationships. Does that just happen? Or is there a certain way for us to receive joy from unlikely places? God often uses vision to reveal unconventional places and practices that release God's joy even to the point of knitting together estranged (and sometimes just plain strange) people into family. Come learn more on Sunday!
Kingdom Café
Friday 5/8 @ 4-7pm

Kingdom Café is a monthly open mic event that serves as a space of artistic expression for New Haven's youth. Come and join us tomorrow at the Af-Am House (African American Cultural Center), 211 Park St. New Haven.
Feel free to invite teens, bake something for the kids, or just show up and enjoy the event and the community. If you would like to help out in any way, please contact George Black.
Following Jesus as a Secular Progressive

Thanks to so may who came out to the "Following Jesus as a Secular Progressive?" event last week. It was a great bridge-building event with our non-religious neighbors. Many members of the Yale Humanist Community (YHC) said the event was a real encouragement. We continued the conversation Tuesday night at YHC's "Who to Follow?" event. Please pray for continued mutual learning between our ECV community, YHC, and our city at large! (If you missed the event, we will be posting a video next week; stay tuned for that.)
Graduation Party

Congratulations to the class of 2015!
We would like to invite you to a gathering after the service in honor of your hard work and dedication and to celebrate this next season of your life.
All are welcome to join as we bless and commission our graduates. So join us after the service on the 17th for light refreshments and cake!
