What's Happening at ECV

Chose Empathy
We continue this week exploring what it means to follow Jesus in the vision He has given to ECV, this time as people who choose empathy and sacrificial service, especially for those on the margins. Does empathy lead to selfless service? How did Jesus respond in empathy? And who is really on the margins? Look for these questions and more on Sunday as Asha Evans shares!
Graduation Party
5/17 @ FSUMC

Congratulations to the class of 2015!
We would like to invite you to a gathering this Sunday, after the Church service in honor of you and your hard work and dedication and to celebrate this next season of your life.
All are welcome to join as we bless and commission our graduates. So join us downstairs on the 17th for light refreshments and cake!

Also, Yale's Class Day is this Sunday from 2-4 so parking will be tricky for our Sunday Gathering. Expect street closures and limited parking. If you are able, plan on walking to church. If you are driving, plan on parking taking a bit longer.
Community Center
+ Neighborhood clean-up

As ECVers have spent more time in the Dwight/Kensington neighborhood through the Challenge, God has opened doors for our community to serve. Recently, several ECVers talked to the Kensington Square Learning Center - a community center on Chapel and Day St. They are looking to recruit mentors for kids, men and women with an interest in serving a men's group and women's group, and volunteers to teach computer skills/job search skills. If any of those roles interest you, e-mail Josh.
Additionally, the Dwight/Kensington neighborhood is hosting a large clean-up on Saturday, May 23rd, from 9am-2pm starting at 230 Edgewood Ave. This is a great and accessible way to serve the neighborhood if you have not done so already. Plus, there's food! Play and listen at the clean-up, and then spend on something nearby. :)
ECV Sprouts
Summer Teachers Needed

ECV Sprouts is looking for volunteers to work with the youngest members of the ECV family. We particularly need Helpers for the kiddos during the summer months (June - August). If you have never volunteered with Sprouts before, summer is a great time to try it out as our programing is more relaxed. We are so blessed to have a flourishing children's church and are excited for what God is doing in this ministry and in the lives of our kids. Please consider investing in the lives of our kids - you'll be blessed!
