What's Happening at ECV

A Community of Courage
At ECV, we want to be a community that lives courageously in a world where so often courage is in short supply. Given that, it can be easy to let a courage-less life become normal. Following Jesus requires us to have courage in order to fight the fear and darkness in our lives and in the lives of those around us. On Sunday, Julian will share more of how we can have this kind of life for ourselves and our communities.
NHV challenge Extended to May!

Ready for a challenge? The New Haven Neighborhood Challenge is an ECV effort that comes from the call to Open Our Eyes. As we have seen more from God, our call to go out into the city has gotten clearer and stronger. We are extended this month's neighborhood challenge in
Dwight/Kensington
until May! The goal is for every one in our community to do all three actions - play, spend, and listen. Get involved! Share this as a HG, invite people on the community list, and have fun getting to know more of our great city.
Through the challenge, we became aware of the Kensington Square Learning Center. It wants volunteers for very exciting programs that ECV could design and co-sponsor. If you're interested in joining that effort, please e-mail
Check out the website for the challenge here, including an interactive spreadsheet that we can use to help track activities in the neighborhood.
Nepal Earthquake

Thank you for all those who gave on Sunday to help the Kathmandu Vineyard Church serve their city and region in the wake of the terrible earthquake last week. We collected over $700. An update on the work being done by the team of Nepalese and Canadian Vineyard folks is available here (the supporting Canadian team just happened to be in Nepal when the earthquake struck). Food and blankets are being distributed. The church buildings are being used as housing for those newly without homes. We will take another collection this Sunday so come prepared to contribute. And please pray—especially for the churches in the villages outside the city where the damage was particularly extensive and from whom (quite troublingly) nothing has yet been heard.
