What's Happening at ECV

Lives of Worship
Throughout our series of Moses with the People, God has continued to work with a stubborn people who are still learning about God. God has even let people be priests, mediators on behalf of God. The people are interested in worship, but they are torn between God and mute idols that fascinate. Josh will conclude the series by exploring God's call for us to be priests and worshippers even as we deal with idols that are not simply relics of the past.

Hymns and Valentines
2/14 @10:30am
(note the correction)

Families are invited to the Willows (225 Amity Road) at 10:30am, a skilled nursing facility on the New Haven/Woodbridge line for a hymn sing-along and Valentine's Day celebration with the nursing home residents. After the sing-along, we will have lunch at the Rolf's (4 Lines Road, Woodbridge) at 11:30. Sprouts will hand out Valentines for the residents that they made last Sunday.

Thanks for your support of Sprouts! If you have any questions, please contact Ann Rolf at annrolf@yahoo.com.

Preparing for Lent

Lent is coming soon! Lent is an ancient season in the church calendar marking an intentional time to connect with God. Lent has also been a time where ECV presses into what God has for our whole church. This year's theme is 'Costly Love.' We will be exploring how the love that we want is a love that costs. You'll hear more about what ECV is doing this season this Sunday during the announcements. One special way we'll meet God and begin Lent together is through a family-friendly Ash Wednesday service that focuses on our need to turn towards God. That service will take place on2/18 at 6pm in the First and Summerfield sanctuary.

ECV Going Public
6pm, after service

At ECV, God's given us dreams for our city and for our world that we want to share. Even better, God is already at work in our city and our world, awakening these same dreams in others. So, as we "go public" with our dreams, step one is to listen well to learn what God's already doing through those not yet following Jesus. Join us after service this Sunday as we talk about our church vision and the spaces in our city and online where we can practice listening generously to find the partners God has for us.
