What's Happening at ECV

Called

Last week, Matt preached on the Sabbath and the power of rest.  Next Sunday, Josh starts a new series on being called.  Many of us have the question "What am I called to do?"  We long for a meaningful life and the activity that comes from it.  Being called, though, implies someone is doing the calling.  That's where we'll start.  This Sunday, we will explore how God calls us each of us by name and how that changes everything about what it means to be called as an individual, as a church, and beyond.

Building Update
ECV is on the move!  This Sunday (9/7) will be ECV's last Sunday at the United Church on the Green Meeting House.  We have been so blessed to use this space for our first seven years as a church.  Now, we look forward to where God will take us next.  Our search started by contacting around 40 locations, and we have narrowed down our list to a few great locations that could house our growing community.

As our building team has continued conversations with these different organizations, we have realized we need a longer time to talk with others about partnership beyond simply sharing the physical space of a building.  Also, we have noticed that several congregations desire more time to discern their decision with their entire community.  Given that, it is very likely that, on Sunday, we will announce the transition location we have picked out for such an occurrence as the space we will use for awhile starting on 9/14.  Thankfully, the survey results overwhelmingly supported using a transition location if needed.  Thanks for your grace, patience, and partnership throughout all of this.  On Sunday, we will let you know a few more ways we, as a church, can partner together as we seek to pursue God in the midst of this situation.

Back to School Blessing
Sunday, Sept 7 @4pm Service

Kids are heading back to school, and we want to bless them! School can be an exciting and empowering place of learning, discovery, and growth. It can be a place of deep friendships and influence and a place where kids share the goodness of God’s love. Let’s ask for God’s blessing on the kids of our community this year! Bring your kids on Sunday, and invite other families as well! We’ll be praying for the kids at the beginning of the service, then they’ll head downstairs for ECV Sprouts worship and Sunday school!

Homegroup Fair
Sunday, September 7
Downstairs, after Service

Looking for more ways to be involved with community at ECV?

This Sunday after service, we are going to have pizza and dessert downstairs in order to spend some time meeting the home group leaders and to find out what each homegroup will be like and what topics they will cover.

Whether you have been following Jesus for a long time, just beginning to explore faith, or wanting to meet regularly with folks, HGs are a great way to get connected.

Information can be found at our Homegroups Page and there will be more details at the Homegroup Fair! Come eat some dinner and feel free to bring questions!
