Come REST next Sunday!
Next Sunday, 8/31, Matt Croasmun is preaching on the Sabbath and the power of rest. In New Haven, it is easy to get caught up in a culture of busyness - this time of year, in particular. If you've wondered why rest is important or found yourself not knowing how to rest lately, come and be inspired to make time in your life to rest well.
Matt is one of the pastors on staff at ECV and this teaching will mark the beginning of Matt's sabbatical for the Fall of 2014. Matt co-planted the Elm City Vineyard in 2007 and has been part of the leading the church ever since. He has had seven very fruitful years of ministry at ECV (along with a fruitful experience receiving a Ph.D from Yale in Religious Studies at the same time!), and we are looking forward to many more when he returns in 2015.
In the new year, he will help ECV expand its offerings beyond the church to the academy (religious and non-religious) and young and old professionals through exploring what makes a life worth living and discovering how to engage the big questions of life through the person of Jesus. The community at ECV is very thankful for Matt's service, grateful for this time for him to rest, and expectant for what God will do come 2015!
