What's Happening at ECV

Being Church

Summer Teaching Series
Last week, Matt continued our summer teaching series through 1 Corinthians called Being Church. He talked about the identity available to us in the church and the way that this identity—as servants of Christ—sets us free from the judgement of anyone other than Christ—including ourselves. This week, we continue with chapters 5-7, which get at all sorts of touchy questions about how to live… As it turns out, it all has to do with an important, but surprising question: What time is it? That is: Where are we in God’s cosmic plan?

Picnics in the Park

2nd & 4th Wednesdays (That's THIS week!)
4:00-7:00 pm

Bring something to grill or a simple picnic dinner, play basketball, get wet in the water park, swing in the playgrounds, or just hang out with others in the ECV family. All are welcome, so bring some friends and neighbors to join the fun. The park is on the corner of Ashmun and Webster Streets newar Yale Health Center.

Summer Bible Study

Thursdays @ 8:00 pm
47 Dyer Street

** No Bible Study this week **Join us on July 3rd for the next Bible Study **

Paired with the summerSunday teaching series, Matt will be leading a mid-week bible study covering the parts of the letter from which the next Sunday's teaching will draw. There's too much in each week's passage to fit in a Sunday talk, so if you really want to dig in and follow the whole flow of the letter, join us Thursday nights. The study will be both intentionally accessible to those new to the bible and/or new to faith and also rich for those who've spent a lot of time studying scripture, so come check it out and invite a friend!

ECV Sprouts
Summer Helpers Needed

ECV Sprouts is looking for volunteers to work with the youngest members of the ECV family. We particularly need Helpers for the kiddos during Sundays Gatherings in the next few months (July - September). As extra incentive - there is air-conditioning downstairs - so you can stay cool and help with the kids. Please consider investing in the lives of our kids - you'll be blessed! To sign up or for more information, contact Hannah.
