What's Happening at ECV

Being Church Summer Teaching Series Last week, Matt kicked off our summer teaching series through 1 Corinthians called Being Church, talking about the upside-down "logic of the cross." If you missed it, check it out. This week, we continue in 1 Corinthians in chapters 3 and 4 where Paul applies this upside-down logic to himself, boasting that in fact he has become the "scum of the earth" (1Cor 4:13). These chapters are full of surprises and full of vivid pictures of what it is to be church—how to understand ourselves and the roles God gives us to play. See youSunday!

ECV in Uganda Travel Blog Curious about what the ECV Uganda crew is up to?  They are halfway through their time in Uganda and have spent the last two weeks in northern Uganda working with former female child soldiers and their children. Check out their latest updates on their travel blog! This is a great way to check in with how the team is doing and what they're learning in Uganda. It also includes prayer requests so that you can be partnering with the team in prayer throughout their trip. Summer Bible Study Thursdays @ 8:00 pm 323 Temple St.  Paired with the summerSunday teaching series, Matt will be leading a mid-week bible study covering the parts of the letter from which the next Sunday's teaching will draw. There's too much in each week's passage to fit in a Sunday talk, so if you really want to dig in and follow the whole flow of the letter, join us Thursday  nights at the Parish House (323 Temple St). The study will be both intentionally accessible to those new to the bible and/or new to faith and also rich for those who've spent a lot of time studying scripture, so come check it out and invite a friend! Summer Prophecy Group 7:00-9:00 pm 1st & 3rd Wednesdays 36 Tilton Street, Apt D Beginning on June 18th, on 1st and 3rd Wednesdays there will be a gathering at Jane and Eric Jueland's for anyone who wants to practice hearing from God for one another and process the experience of participating in prophetic ministry together. If you were stirred up by the Life With a Living God conference to step out into prophetic ministry, or if you are feeling led to investigate this way of hearing from God more, this is a great group for you. Weather permitting, we'll meet in the back yard.
