What's Happening at ECV

What's in a name?
Last Sunday, Matt continued our teaching series on the life of Abraham which we're calling "Waiting Well." He looked at how Abram & Sarai turned to strategy to fulfill God's promise rather than waiting for God to act. You can listen to the talk hereThis Sunday, Sarah Macky will continue the series by looking at how Abram and Sarai become Abraham and Sarah. We'll be asking the question, "What's in a name?" What does our name say about who we are? In what way does waiting shape our identity? What if you heard God call you by name? Would you answer the call?

Financial Update

Thanks so much for your generous support of ECV! It is because of your investment in ECV, we are able to pursue the things God has called us to in our church, our city, and around the world. For the second quarter of FY13-14 (October-December 2013), giving was roughly $1,800 short of what we had budgeted. However, due to better-than-expected giving in the first quarter of the year, we are still about $2,400 ahead of budget for the year. To find out more about how we invest our money at ECV and how you can participate in supporting God's work through the church, check out the Give to ECV page.

ECV City Initiative

February 9th
downstairs after Sunday Gathering

ECV is a community of dreamers who want to make an impact on our city in big and small ways.  This Sunday we are going to use the principles of community organizing to assess what kind of change ECVers desire to bring about in New Haven and how our community can be a part of that transformative work.  Come with dreams and questions as we engage in conversation and activities about how to seek the peace of our city. Dinner will be provided.
