Church Administrator Position

As we talked about Monday night at the Finances Forum, as God continues to grow ECV, it seems that it's time to start building a(n albeit modest) paid staff to help support and advance the things that God is doing in our community. At the moment, that means that we're looking to hire two part-time staff members: an administrator (15 hours/week) and a pastor (20 hours/week). You'll hear more about the pastoral hire in coming weeks and months. However, starting today, we're accepting applications for the administrator position.

We're hoping that an administrator will be able to serve our community by putting valuable time and energy into communications, coordination, and the various critical details of what we do. (There's a more formal job description below.) We'd really like to hire someone who's already invested in our community; consider—that person may be YOU. If so, please email a cover letter and resumé to info@elmcityvineyard.org ASAP (we'll start arranging interviews late next week).

In all this, let's be thankful. God is building something… and we get to be a part of it.

The Elm City Vineyard is hiring a Church Administrator, to begin work as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will be organized, attentive to detail, comfortable with technology (basic web tools and applications, email, etc.), flexible in change, and a gracious and capable communicator via written and spoken word. More advanced technical skills (e.g. familiarity with HTML, RSS, and digital media technologies) and/or skill and interest in graphic design would be preferred. As the position would benefit from familiarity with the church, its people, and its programs, preference will be given to candidates who are already active members of ECV.

Basic duties will include updating the content of the ECV's web presence, managing the Google Group, maintaining the weekly sermon recordings, managing the ECV's relationship with our host church (United Church), managing various Sunday volunteer teams and logistics tasks, scheduling meetings, collecting and maintaining data relevant to the ECV's ministry, and coordinating the dissemination of announcements and other information through ECV's various communications media (blog, email, calendar, Sunday announcements, homegroup announcements). Depending on the skills and interests of the individual hired, other tasks could involve some financial bookkeeping, design & distribution of promotional materials, and/or more substantial technology projects.

This position will be 15 hours per week. Compensation will be $15/hr.
