What's Happening at ECV

You Have Enough to Share

In our current series, This is True Religion, we're looking at Isaiah 58 and what sort of religion God really desires. Last Sunday Asha talked about the kind of fasting God desires most: lives of justice lived for the sake of others. If you missed it, check it out here. This week, Matt will invite us to share the abundance God’s given us with the hungry and those who live outside. How can we be people who take up this call, and how do we follow Jesus in His example? Join us Sunday to explore more of the religion God truly desires.

Character & Flourishing
2/22 @ 7:00p
Whoever we are, we each have to ask and answer for ourselves: What is the good life? Join us for a conversation with David Brooks (New York Times columnist) and Miroslav Volf (Yale theologian), two people who are thinking deeply about these questions, how to reason together about them, and how to live out meaningful answers. And invite a friend (or 3 or 4) to join you!
Reserve free tickets online. Note: Currently, the event is sold out. feel free to join the waitlist.

Spiritual Formation Retreat
March 19th - 9:30a-4:30p

As we seek to join Jesus in His work of justice this Lent, we also have an opportunity to become like Jesus. Jesus can transform our tiredness into refreshment; our burnout into hope. Spiritual formation is a great way to care for our souls as we love and serve others. On Saturday3/19, you are invited to an ECV Spiritual Formation Day from 9:30am - 4:30pm at the Caritas Center in Hamden.
There will be a light breakfast and lunch. The actual cost is $20 but feel free to pay what you can. Kids are welcome. Register for the event here.

Sunday Lent Dinners

During the Season of Lent, we will be sharing simple meals together after service on Sundays. Through these dinners, we hope to build better community and friendships and the sharing of simple meals gives us an opportunity to stand in solidarity with those who have less than us. So join on Sunday for community meals and be sure to bring your friends.
If you would like to help out with these dinners or if you have a simple meal that you would like to share with our community, email Laura.
