What's Happening at ECV

Jesus as a Truth-Teller
Last week Josh introduced our new series on Jesus, talking to us about what it means that Jesus is our friend. Asha picks up this week, speaking on how Jesus is also a Prophet. What does a truth-telling Jesus have to say to us and why does it matter? Come join us on Sunday to learn more!
Apple picking
10/10 @ 11:00

Join us this Saturday, 10/10 at 11:00, for an afternoon of apple picking. We will meet at Hickory Hill Orchard in Cheshire. The address is 351 South Meridan Road Cheshire, CT 06410.
Bring a picnic lunch and some friends and we'll pick apples, enjoy lunch and stop for an ice cream treat on the way home.
Come enjoy a beautiful fall day with us! Email
with questions.
Sharing the Big Story
10/11 after the service

The last four weeks we explored The Big Story during which we talked about some intuitions we have regarding the world and what they might tell us about our story. This coming Sunday, join us after the service as we talk together about how we can share this Big Story with others. We'll explore how using the different intuitions and hopes that we see in each act of our story can help us become better listeners and sharers.
Walk Newhallville
10/13 @ 5:30

The New Haven Neighborhood Challenge continues as we explore more parts of District 7 - the neighborhoods of East Rock and Newhallville.
This coming Tuesday at 5:30pm, Josh and LaQruishia Gill will lead a prayer walk in Newhallville starting at Yale Divinity School, which sits right in the middle of the two neighborhoods. We will stop by churches, schools, and some businesses. The proposed route is here. The walk is a little more than two miles and will take between 60 and 75 minutes.
All are invited to join us, and we particularly invite people who live, work, play, and study (that means you, YDS students!) to take part in this walk. E-mail LaQruishia if you have questions.
