What's Happening at ECV

After the Fireworks, What's Next?
Sunday, Matt continued our current teaching series, "Moses with the People." He led us through the story of the ten plagues and invited us to consider how it could possibly be that the judgment of God is a cause for joy. In the process, we saw the ways that we can identify both with the people of God and also with Pharaoh—and yet, how God nevertheless call us His people even when we make ourselves His enemies. If you missed it, you can check it out here. This Sunday, Matt will continue the series as we consider life as the people of God after the fireworks, after all the spectacular works of God. What does it look like to depend on God's power day in and day out?
Open Our Eyes to New Ways of Engaging the Police
TONIGHT 6:30pm

Get involved in community-police relations in New Haven! Every Thursday at 10am, CompStat happens at the central police station (1 Union Ave). This meeting is open to the public and features district managers talking through crimes in each NH neighborhood and receiving feedback from other police and community partners. It is a great way to learn about New Haven and to be a part of community policing. In addition, there is a hearing tonight (Thursday 1/29) at 6:30pm at City Hall about a civilian review board that would bring transparency and, if necessary, an additional voice to claims of police misconduct. You're invited to come to either or both of these events.
ECV Prays!
Intercession

If you've been around ECV, you know that we are a community that loves prayer. We want to grow as a community that prays in specific, regular ways for our church, our city, and beyond. This kind of directed prayer is often called intercessory prayer.

In this season, the prayer team would like to facilitate this by sending out a daily reminder to pray about a specific request. If you'd like to opt-in to this practice and grow in that way of praying, please fill out this very quick form!
