What's Happening at ECV

Failure IS An Option

Risk is fundamental to the courageous life we want to live. ("Faith," it is said is spelled R-I-S-K.) But embracing risk necessarily means embracing the possibility—or even likelihood—of failure. In fact, failure is so much a sign of a healthy culture of risk-taking that we might assess our own lives and the life of our community with this question: Are we failing enough? The easiest way to keep from failing is to refuse to take the risks God is asking us to take. What would it look like instead to take godly risks and become a people that embrace—even celebrate, in a certain sense—"failures" we experience together in courageously trying to respond to God's leadership?

Uganda Update

A team of ECVers is headed to Uganda in June to join other American and Ugandan students in a cross cultural learning and service experience. You can help in three ways: pray for the team, provide new or gently worn warm weather clothing for kids aged 2-8, and give financially through a special offering this Sunday. Thanks for supporting this team. If you have questions, email Josh

Financial Update

Thanks so much for your generous support of ECV! It is because of your investment in ECV that we are able to pursue the things God has called us to in our church, our city, and around the world. For the third quarter of FY13-14 (January-March 2014), giving was roughly $6,600 short of what we had budgeted, leaving us$4,700 behind our budget for the year. To find out more about how we invest our money at ECV and how you can participate in supporting God's work through the church, check out the Give to ECV page.
