What's Happening at ECV



Receiving the Gift of Limits
Teaching Series

We don't like to talk about limits. We live in a culture that's all about more. THIS Sunday, we'll be starting a new teaching series, Receiving the Gift of Limits, that will  an invitation into a life that is fortunately, providentially, blessedly bounded, limited—and therefore truly free. It just might be the cure for the typical American holiday season. Check out the promo video. Be there for the series launch and Sunday. And invite a friend.

Kingdom Cafe

Friday, November 1st
4:30-6:30pm
United church on the Green
The Kingdom Cafe is an open mic outreach event to provide a safe space for the youth of New Haven to express themselves through poetry and song.
Ways you can help:
-Bake something great for the kids to eat
-Help with set up, break down and pre-event prayer (be there at 3pm)
-Come and interact with the kids
-Present a piece of art 
-Invite teenagers

Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Saturday, November 2nd
4-7 pm
36 Tilton Street
(go around to the backyard)

Join us for a kid-friendly, adult-welcoming, not-so-scary Halloween party on Saturday following Halloween. There will be kid crafts and games, face painting, snacks, and (of course) candy. Costumes are encouraged for all (even the grown-ups). Come enjoy the season with some food, fellowship, and silly fun!

Sprouts Teacher Training

Sunday, November 3rd

United Church on the Green


There will be a Sprouts teacher training on Sunday after the Sunday gathering. This session is for ANYONE who has been OR wants to be OR is considering being a Sprouts Teacher. We will discuss important information about Sprouts, look at the curriculum, AND share helpful tips about teaching, discipline, and helping kids experience more of Jesus! RSVP to Hannah

Women's Retreat

November 9th

Women, you are invited to set aside November 9th as a day to unplug from your regular duties and routines. We will be having a day retreat with the intention of deepening our relationships with Jesus and deepening our relationships with one another. Cost of the retreat is $10. Artist Circle

Are you a Writer? Songwriter? Painter? Poet? Sculptor? Photographer? Musician? Designer?
Join us Monday night. Bring one piece of art to share with the circle, as well as any instruments or supplies you need to do some creating on the spot. That simple!

Night of Worship


Saturday, November 16th

Oakdale Theater, Wallingford

You are invited to gather with dozens of Connecticut churches and over 100 worship leaders representing various denominations for the simple purpose of glorifying Jesus. Sponsored by CTNOW in partnership with UNOW, a cross-cultural, New England-wide movement of worship and unity. If you would like to be part of a carpooling effort for this event, contact Tina.
