This Week at ECV 4/24-4/30

The Kingdom Cafe

The Kingdom Cafe is an open mic, spoken word event to provide a safe space for the youth of New Haven to express themselves through poetry and song. The next Kingdom Cafe is going to take place on April 27th, from 4:30-6:30 at the United Church on the Green, located at 323 Temple Street, on the corner of Temple and Elm. We are anticipating a large group of kids and a really exciting time.
Ways you can help include:
-Baking something great for he kids to eat
-Coming and helping with set up, break down and pre-event prayer (be there at 3pm)
-Coming and being intentional about interacting with the kids that are present.
-Presenting a piece of art (poem, drawing, song)
-Inviting teenagers that you know.
To be involved, contact George.

Agape Church for the Homeless
Sundays 8am, Trinity Lutheran Church
(soon to be Sundays @ 9 on the Green; we'll let you know when it transitions)

During Lent, ECV had several volunteer opportunities with the homeless.  If you want to continue to bless and befriend the homeless of New Haven, consider checking out Agape.  We are a community of folks who live in shelters, outside, and in homes.  We seek to uplift one another through teaching about the truth of a God who is for us, praying together, eating together, and sharing resources when we can.  It's an inspiring time to see how friendships can be built across barriers and how God meets us all with His grace whether we feel we are put together or whether we feel a bit of a mess.  ECVers have played a core part in supporting and providing leadership for this community and we'd love to have more ECVers involved.  Come and check it out this Sunday!  If you have any questions, contact Josh.
