Follow-up to Shaw's Supermarket Organizing Meeting

As we are spending this Lenten Season praying for our city, I just wanted to give you a quick update about the Shaw's Organizing Meeting that we attended this past Tuesday and how we as a church might continue to be involved in bringing fresh, affordable, and healthy food into our city!

So, about 6 ECVers attended the (very crowded) meeting on Tuesday and as the only church represented in the room, I thought it was great that we were there to show our support for this basic need in our city. At this meeting, it was suggested that we ought to collect data that describes the market for a grocery in the city, lest the loss of Shaw's create a "food desert" in this wide portion of New Haven.

To that end, could you please fill out this BRIEF online survey?
- Surveys MUST be filled out by NEXT Thursday (3/18) - Just do it now, it'll only take a few minutes!

To download a paper copy of the survey, click here.

Also, please encourage your neighbors and friends to fill out and submit a survey. - It's vital that Yale students AND those who work in New Haven, but don't live in New Haven, fill out this survey!

If you want further information about the survey, contact Linda Townsend-Maier

The next community meeting to update and organize is Tuesday, March 30, 6:30 pm at the Dwight/Kensington/West River Community Policing Station at 130 Edgewood Ave.
