What's Happening at ECV

The Life of Daniel

Being God’s people—or even thinking or asking about God—in a secular age can be challenging. The values God asks us to live by and the values of the culture around us sometimes simply do not match. What does it look like to be faithful in a society that doesn’t always support faith? The biblical book of Daniel tells us the story of a group of friends doing exactly that: following God in a sometimes-hostile environment but finding, ultimately, that God has great plans for them in a foreign land. They learn to be a creative minority, seeking the flourishing of the place where God has sent them. Join us this week as Matt leads us through Daniel 1 and explains why you ought to “eat your vegetables.”

Extending Mercy

Josh wrapped up our series on 'Expecting Mercy' this past Sunday. In his talk, he introduced what will be a season of extending mercy to others outside our church community. If you have ideas for who or how to serve or if you want to be more involved in rolling out this new initiative, please e-mail Laura. We'll share more about this on Sunday!

A Visit from GLA

Gillian Edube, a founder of Global Link Afrika, visited ECV this Sunday all the way from Uganda. Gillian has organized and co-led the Uganda trip that ECV has been involved with the past few summers. Gillian shared about GLA's mission in service, spent time with Sprouts who have supported work in Uganda, and shared even more over dinner. If you wanted to give to support GLA's mission, contact Laura. If you are interested in the trip to Uganda this summer, contact Josh. Learn more about Gillian here.
