How will the Elm City Vineyard Church value sharing the Good News to
our city and the world? How did Jesus share about the Kingdom of
God? Is it important to be culturally sensitive and creative when
sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ? What are the benefits of
different models of evangelism, such as friendship, outreach events,
ALPHA, "servant evangelism"... you get the idea. What have YOU found to
be most effective when you're engaging someone who does not yet
believe Jesus is the Christ?
Let's talk. And dream. And pray.
When: Next Tuesday, March 4, 5:30-7 p.m.
Where: 180 Colony Rd., New Haven, CT 06511

ECV Forum: Finances
ECV Forum: Finances
Saturday, March 8th, 1:00-2:30pm
180 Colony Road
So, geez, money and the church; everyone's favorite topic... :-P But this is church budgeting ECV-style! We are stoked to have the opportunity to use the funds with which God has blessed us to support the things He cares about in the world: righting injustice, caring for the poor, advancing the gospel. Spending money has never been so much fun.
Seriously, the board of trustees (Katie Smith, Kathy Maskell, Kathy Saperstein, Jeremy Blum and I) met last week to brainstorm a bit about what kinds of things we can and ought to do financially as a church and it was a blast.
Saturday, March 8th at 1pm, we want to share with you what we've been thinking about, get your input, gather the collective creativity of the community and move forward to start putting our money into the things God is doing in our city and around the world. More will be coming soon on this topic (charts, graphs; if you love data, this is your thing); we really want to handle the money God has given us with integrity and the best way we know to do that is to be transparent.
So, come, join us!

Time: Sunday Gathering starts at 4:00pm, Dinner at 6:00pm
Place: United Church on the Green - Fellowship Hall
So, it's time again for our ECV Monthly Potluck (following our Sunday Gathering) - This is a time when we gather together as a whole body to celebrate in extended communion with one another (and it's a great opportunity to invite friends!)

Church at the Playwright
144 Temple St.
Sunday, 2/10, 4pm
This coming Sunday, 2/10, we will be meeting in the back room at the Playwright at 144 Temple Street for our regular Sunday worship gathering at 4pm. So, come, bring a friend, and experience the rare opportunity to worship God in the inimitable atmosphere of New Haven's favorite Irish-church-cum-Irish-pub.
[Fine print: Childcare will be provided next door in the Love146 conference room. Yeah, we were bumped from our normal meeting space; we'll be back at United Church 2/17.]
